Defining our children.. and our self..

I just want to react to something I noticed.. It is a way how we unconsciously define people around us, and unwillingly / unintentional leave a mark.
I have done it myself...

It is the phrase, or term, "CI-kid".. (I have even seen "CI-mom & CI-dad").
What is shown with this "name" is that it is the CI that defines the person. I have a feeling that when you use it enough, you start believing it.
It is NOT the CI that defines the child. Or the parent. The cochlear implant is a tool. In the beginning it it the magic that makes everything possible, but basically.. it is just a tool.
Think of how there is a difference between "CI-kid" and "child with CI".

I hope more people will be aware of this and help to stop this. Our children define them-self. With or without CI.
